IMPLEMENTING FIT FOR PURPOSE LAND ADMINISTRATION IN INDONESIA
Doing business in Indonesia is not so easy. Various forms of permits must have beforehand. These permits include aims to provide the security of land rights, land tax correctness and assurances of a business run at the right land use planning.
Ensuring of ownership land rights, valuation for land tax, and the suitable land use planing require complicated activities that carried out by different government institutions. The all land administration activities have rigid standard operating procedures and take long time and in turn become expensive.
Indonesian Surveyor Association (ISI) had seen the complexity of land administration in Indonesia due to the incompleteness of the cadastre, the land parcel data. More than 60% of land parcels has not been registered and no more than 15% of registered land mapped correctly. The incompleteness of the land parcel data when required to be equipped with field activities. imagine when all land administration activities in all government agencies should take to the field at the time of l icensing will be issued.
It is needed a breakthrough to build a complete cadastre for the registered and unregistered parcels. Either in the forest or outside the forest area. It is needed a data revolution through a fit for purpose land administration.
